Brows: 4 mistakes that harden your face
Brows structure the face more than any other detail. Well shaped, they open up the eyes and rejuvenate; poorly done, they harden. Here are the four mistakes I correct most often.
1. Making them too thin
A too-thin line ages you and freezes your expression. Better to respect the natural growth and fill the gaps than to redraw everything.
2. One single, too-dark colour
A natural brow isn't uniform: lighter at the base, denser toward the tail. Choosing a shade slightly lighter than your hair and working in small strokes looks real.
3. Too much product at once
Pencil or pomade go on in light, hair-by-hair strokes. A heavy hand creates a "drawn-on" effect you notice immediately.
4. Forgetting to brush and set
Brushing upward before and after shapes the brow. A clear setting gel holds everything in place all day, without stiffness.
In short
A good brow is barely visible: it simply sets off the rest of the face. It's a matter of placement and restraint.
