The makeup that brings out your eye colour
There's a simple logic behind choosing shadows: complementary shades make the iris colour pop. Here are the pairings that work best, colour by colour.
Blue eyes
Warm tones — copper, bronze, peach, terracotta — create a contrast that intensifies the blue. A hint of gold in the inner corner brightens the gaze.
Green eyes
Rosy, plum and burgundy shades flatter green. Purple, especially, acts as a revealer. Use sparingly to avoid a "tired" effect.
Brown eyes
The freest colour: almost anything works. To warm, golds and bronzes; to intensify, a deep navy or rich green as a liner.
Hazel eyes
Depending on the light, they lean green or gold. You can "choose" the dominant: coppery tones bring out the gold, plum tones wake up the green.
Keep in mind
These are a starting point, not a fixed rule. What matters most is harmony with your complexion and the occasion.
