Makeup and sensitive skin: the right habits
Having sensitive skin doesn't mean giving up on makeup. It simply takes more care in choosing products and gestures. Here's how I adapt my services to reactive skin.
Identify the triggers
Fragrance, alcohol, certain preservatives: triggers vary from person to person. Before an appointment, I always ask, and at the slightest doubt, we test on a small area.
Choose suitable formulas
For sensitive skin, I favour minimalist, fragrance-free textures that cover redness without smothering the skin. Targeted correction beats a uniform layer.
Prep and soothe
Soothed skin reacts less. A few minutes of hydrating, calming care before makeup make a real difference to comfort and wear.
Remove makeup gently
Sensitivity also plays out at the removal stage. A gentle water or balm, without rubbing, avoids next-day redness. It's advice I give every time.
The essential
Sensitive skin that's well understood takes makeup just as beautifully as any other. The secret is listening and gentleness.
A particular sensitivity? Let me know when you book, and I'll adapt everything.
